We’re happy to share that the Gauzebrook Village Produce Fair is up and running again. This event kindly supports For Ethiopia.
The date for your diaries is Saturday 29th September, venue Stanton St Quintin Primary school SN14 6DQ.
The competition is open to all residents in the Gauzebrook group of villages, plus people who work in the same.
There are lots of categories to enter; most are open to all ages, but some are for Juniors only. Entries should be brought to the school between 11 p.m. and 12 noon.
Categories include:
- Cookery, open to all ages, of a Victoria sponge, sweet preserve (jam, jelly or curd) and chutney or relish
- Produce, open to all ages, to include beans, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, onions and the squash family
- Flower arrangement (all ages)
- Fruit, open to all ages, home-grown (e.g. apples, pears, grapes) and hedgerow
- Handicraft, all ages, of a knitted item of clothing, a small sewn item (including cross-stitch), a hand-painted picture and photography
- Junior handicraft (under 11 years of age on Sept 29th) of a floral collage, illustrated book cover and vegetable person
- Junior cookery (under 11 years of age on Sept 29th) of decorated cup cakes, a fondant or marzipan animal
Raffle prizes are being sought from local businesses as well as prizes for the Junior entries (any offers are very welcome!)
